Members Fireball_73
I was playing Table football today and sucking at it. Can anyone tell me why it's called table football and not table soccer in the states?

Members DaveAronow
You mean fooseball? I used to play semi pro fooseball. Never made a living at it(dont think that is really even possible unless you consider living in a cardboard box a living), but used to win some descent tourney money, and a significant amout playing for cash. It is a game for nerds, played by nerds and loved by nerds, but I was good at it, and the competetive side in me didnt care if I looked like a nerd. Havent played in a few years. Members Fireball_73
You mean fooseball? Yeap - (I half thought that was just a thing that Chandler and Joey called it on Friends ) I just don't get why although it's based on soccer, it's called fooseball (basically football) in the states. Especially when football is a completely different thing...

Members collinwho
I've never heard it called Table Football before. When I was in Germany they called it Kicker, I liked that name. I've always heard Foosball here. According to the wiki, it was invented in England, which is probably why it is also called Table Football by some.
