Members Belton-d
Need Help. Looking at getting a Hartke 2x15xl cab. This things a monster, and i need to know what would comfortably power it. On the specs it says: Power handling 400w @ 4ohms. But ive heard of people powering it with 350w @ 4 ohms, and with head room. Are they lying or can it be done ? lol Cheers
Members perrydabassman
Methinks you would be happier with an Ashdown 410........
Members Renfield
Methinks you would be happier with an Ashdown 410........ He'd be happier with a whole lot of things. That's an awfully large beast to lug around for only 400 watts.

Can you power a 400w cab with a 350w amp? Of course you can.
Members rpsands
In the UK there is only one 2x15 worth purchasing. The Barefaced Vintage. Anything less would be uncivilized.
Members JeffBass
The Bergantino NV215 is widely recognized as the pillar of all 215's. On a more affordable note, People seem to like the Peavey Tour 215. If you feel like taking a chance, try this!! http://www.hardtruckers.com/HT215B.html The custom grills are so cool. I have taken a liking to 2x15's, and I would be more willing to go with the Peavey 2x15. Heavy as hell.

Members bassthumpintwin
I'm not sure what you're asking. Can you power a 400w cab with a 350w amp? Of course you can. +1You can power that cab with far less than that even. But as others have recommended, you might find better options with a better power/weight/sound quality ratio, if that happens to be a concern to you. Members georgestrings
That is my ideal cabThis is what I'm playing through now and it does sound pretty good Yeah, mine's loaded with Kappa LFA's, and it sounds very good - atleast as good as the Mesa RR 215 I've played through before... If I ever start gigging it regularly, I'll probably load it with some 3015's or 3015LF's - but for now, it's parked in a rehearsal space, and doing a great job... - georgestrings
Members rpsands
Or you could get a vintage for not much more than any of these other options, and have it weigh 45lbs instead of 90lbs
