Members vanlatte
Unless I can find a decent group of people to play with....*nudge nudge wink wink* I spent most of the weekend trying to get into online games, and I have never seen a bigger bunch of whiney, immature, impatient little brats in my life. And I have been gaming online since the days of the 2400 Baud BBS systems were all we had. If I didn't automatically do everything some boy-soprano screaming into his mic wanted all I would hear is bitching, then votes start coming up to get me kicked. Seriously, I have played FPS games longer than most of these {censored}sticks have even been alive. Just because I don't know every square inch of every map and know exactly what strategies to use doesn't mean I can't hang sooner or later. And WTF is with the missing mute option?!?! That's been around since Half Lifes inception for crying out loud; now when I do happen to find a team that doesn't kick me within 15 seconds I have to listen to somebodys rap-beats or dogs barking or family guy clips. Good Lord. And I actually payed money for this privilage
Members t3ch
buahahahahahaha. I have not experienced any of this playing LFD, but I definitely understand where you're coming from. I've not met anyone who is annoying, not been spammed over mics, haven't had anyone try to kick anyone else, and there hasn't been a lot of bitching. That's rather unfortunate. Are you playing on the easy or normal difficulty? I normally play expert or advanced... Maybe the people in the easier rooms are jackoff kids. Either way, we're definitely going to play soon. Unfortunately my internet connection only worked for about 30 minutes all weekend, so I wasn't able to play. I have class mon/tue nights, but can play either when I get home (after 930 est) or any night after.

We'll get a game going soon though, no worries. Lug and I have played several times, two long time gamer-buddies of mine have it, and I convinced my coworker to get it... We should be able to get some nice 4-man games going soon.

Are you guys playing the campaigns or versus? I like the campaigns to get the hang of the maps, but playing as the infected is just too much fun. I play campaign most of the time. Just pure zombie killing action. I tend to die quickly in versus mode and get bored.

I haven't seen the HCBF group either, but t3ch and Jazzy are added as friends. t3ch can kill a {censored}eload of zombies per capita....I'm just sayin'. Members t3ch
The games came out like 7 months apart, so there isn't going to be much discrepancy in the requirements.
Members oldivor
hhmmm, I have a 3.0GHz P4... And I have 1GB of RAM. I do have a Nvidia 9500GT so I'd be OK there. I wonder how well it would work in WINE....

Members vanlatte
alt+tab->select player->mute Er...so they have to be friends first? Or is there someplace else you can see everyone currently in the game? Other than, you know, actually IN the game.
Members lug
Er...so they have to be friends first? Or is there someplace else you can see everyone currently in the game? Other than, you know, actually IN the game. If you click on the "friends" link off of the Steam toolbar icon, you can see the status of all your friends and what game they are currently playing. Once L4D2 is up, you get a rolling list of friends currently online. You can then select a game they are in to join if there are any openings.
