Members Fireball_73
My band Contact Lost have polish imitators! Can't say we have original claim to the name though as it's taken from a Deep Purple song. Strangely enough, even though the polish folk have 1 fan, they come up before us on google of "contact lost myspace". What about you guys?
Members Sugarskull
Yup, I was in a band called plan9. There were quite a few around the world. Then there was Killbillies. We would have kept the name, but I was tired of constantly being reminded by other people's fans how similar we were in name to Angry Johnny and the Killbillys. Or the Beverly Killbilles or the movie Killbillies... blah blah blah. We were the only ones who were working toward landing the TM too. Now I see there's a new band in Canada called the Killbillies. I should sell the all our old shirts. lol. Now our name is so F'ed up, no will want it. lol.
Members NeonVomit
Haven't found any other bands with our name, but several which come close, like Winter's Crescent (who actually became good friends of ours...) Winter's Dawn (very close, are on the same label, but play totally different music), Winter Land (who have since changed their name to something else) Wintersun (we even have a song called 'My Winter Sun' but again, totally different style), Winter's Bane (a band that Ripper Owens was apparently a member of, and who even worked with the same producer)... What is it with Winter and metal bands?
Members sunburstbasser
I always like to pick trippy weird names if I have a say. So while I'm sure they exist, I've yet to see another band called Event Horizon or Locked n Loaded. Personally, my favorite band name ever was easily THE MAIN SQUEEZE! Moderators Kindness Posted December 8, 2009 Moderators Share Posted December 8, 2009 When we were Kindness there was another Kindness at kindnesstheband.com. So we used kindnesstherockband.com. I've not seen other bands using: Heligoats, Swimmer Missing; You Stay Here I'll Go Get Help; etc. I'm sure there was another band called the Free Wheels at some point, but I never saw them. Members lokidecat
Closest thing is "The Rusty Pipes" and "Rusty Pipes" which are like an acapella group and some other group of whatevers.
Members collinwho
When I was in nixon, there were not other bands called nixon, but there was "The Nixons" and "Mojo Nixon". Since, there are a couple more bands named nixon that have popped up. There are other groups named Escape Artists, or same variation using the or singular, but we don't intend to change our name until it becomes a problem. Leaving Neon is an original name as far as I can tell.
