Members DanTolen
hi everyone, I was wondering about doing violin or mandolin solo gigs. I'm 16 years old, but i've done gigs with bands before. Istarted playing violin when i was 7, so I know a lot of stuff, and write my own music for violin / mandolin. In the town where I'm gonna move in with my uncle (Aspen, but don't worry I'm not a rich ass haha) there are outlets on every street corner. During the weekends bands and solo artists perform live. I have a set of maybe 8 songs for violin and mandolin, and I don't mind not getting paid. Do you think I could go into town on a crowded weekend, and set up on a street corner and play my set o say... twice for all the people walking by? Edit: the gigs I have done, I have been the bassist... small gigs.
Members ratthedd
Check city ordinances before playing on the street. Some cities require street performers to have a permit. If it's a busy street and people are constantly moving your 8 songs should last you all day. You won't have the same crowd for more than a few minutes.
