Until reading this thread, I had never heard of Myspace.com. It seems like a cool way to advertise an original or club band. I, however, play in a wedding/function band. We used to do clubs but we've been weeding them out.

For those of you that know more, would there be any advantage for a band like mine to have something on Myspace? We already have a website and advertise on a couple wedding sites. I can't see much work coming from myspace but I could be wrong and would try it if someone could convince me otherwise.

Some cool bands there BTW. I used to play in a couple different Hard-rock original bands back in the day and miss the excitment of people digging your own tunes. I gotta pay the bills though. :(

Yes we do! We make them one at a time at home the way gramma used to. Honestly, we dupe your CD to order with a CD-burner. But the album has 14 songs (albeit on 13 tracks, one track is a 2-song medley performed run together as we used to do it live) and was recorded in a nice local home studio that most of Gainesville's punk and indie bands (including LTJ and Hot Water Music) have used.

It's $5 USD +$2 shipping within the US. $3 shipping for Can/Mex, and $4 for the rest of the world. Send well-concealed US cash, and don't forget to tell us the address you want it mailed to! The address is

Since my band has had a website up for the past two years, I didn't feel much need to have a MySpace page too, but our lead vocalist set one up and it has been a good thing so far. A number of managers and clubs in our area have MySpace pages as well, and it has proven to be helpful for networking purposes. I don't think of it as a replacement for an "official" website, but it is one more means of exposure. There's not really a down side.

Our page is www.myspace.com/undereden.
