Are you saying she bats for the other team?

Switch-hitter?

Or are you taking an expansive and gender-neutral definition of "poon?"

I paraphrase the late, great fingerstylist "Blind Joe Death" (John Fahey):

"When I was a kid, I'd sit and watch the cowboys with their guitars at the park serenading the young ladies. They always seemed to have lots of girls. So I learned guitar. Never did get many women. On the other hand, I learned a heckuva lot about playing the guitar".

The worst thing about the "guitar for poontang" bit is that a lot of times, the women are wise to it, and you land one and she says "Well, you've got me now, you can give up the guitar". AS IF!!!

But yeah. I mean...in high school you had your football heroes. Those guys never needed any help. I needed all the help I could get (and it still wasn't enough ;)) Plus, the guitar gave me something to hide behind.

I hope she's having a happy life.

classic. i'll need to work that into a stage monologue somewhere.

did i pick it up to get girls? nah but it helps now and again but you need the confidence to pull it off too if a girl thinks you're cool because you play guitar but all you do ismumbvle back to her or stand with unched shoulders staring at your feet she's going to move on soon, unless she digs that kinda thing.

One of the things i'm loving most about the band just now is that we're doing songs people will know and I'm playign all the guitar parts and singing so really it's a win win situation. I'm the only single guy int he band too which tends to help.

a drummer that was in my band a couple of years ago called me and said he was quitting the band. he said his girlfriend told him it was either the band or her. he said he loved her and he quit the band. our band played a back to school dance this past friday night and his girlfriend (now ex-girlfriend) was there and she was with somebody else. he actually showed up and tried to fight the guy. i found out that they had been broken up for a couple of weeks. she was fine, but hey, he could have picked up plenty chicks in the band. but that's what happens when you are young, dumb, and full of cu_!

lucky me, i am married for life! got a great wife who is very understanding to the power of music!

I actually picked up the guitar to emulate my older brother and his cool guitar slingin' friends. I did'nt give a hoot about poon. OK, I was 12 and I did'nt even know what poon was! Now that I look back on those times, there seemed to be a lot of teenage girls around us. Hmmmmmm.

I think the first time I actually got some because of playing guitar is when I played the opening lines of "You Shook Me All Night Long" at my own little house party. This gorgeous blonde sat next to me and started singing the lyrics. I kept playing and soon realized that her proximity to me was not just because of spontaneous musical collaboration.

Oh, those beautiful green eyes and those luscious lips. Her name was Valerie and she was from Minnesota. Thank you, Kramer guitar :D

Sometimes, I wonder why I gave up playing guitar. I was at a jazz and blues jam session at the Hilton lounge recently and could not help but notice how the women kept focusing on the musicians (especially the soloists) with open admiration and latent lust.

I picked up the guitar 'cause I couldn't dance. Figured there were two kinds of people at the high school dance (other than faculty chaperones) - them what was on the dance floor, and them what was making them dance. If I couldn't do one, I better learn to do the other, otherwise I'd never get laid (and tired of gigging with one hand... ;) ).

When I picked up guitar at 13, not a female even near my age gave half a {censored} about it. I knew it wasn't going to get me anywhere with them, period. Being a DJ would have been the way to go - all they cared about was hip-hop, dance music, etc.

Dude, I've been a DJ for 13 years and a guitar player for 24 years. I can safely say that you get more women from DJing but it's all quantity, not quality ;)
