Thanks, dude. And I agree with you...there's something liberating about wearing something onstage that you might not in everyday life. Right or wrong, it's not such a bad thing for a performer to be slightly different than their audience as long as you sell it with confidence (which I believe BK was also trying to say) but ultimately, it comes down to what Joe or Jane Blow feels comfortable with.Oh, and cheese? BK, I got cheese to spare...with a side of ham!

Oh, and cheese? BK, I got cheese to spare...with a side of ham! Haha, as do I. And I couldn't agree with you more about being different onstage. As some others have noted they do, I often dress the same offstage as onstage, which just makes me all the weirder. Hell, right now I am at the office. My law office. I am wearing: 11' high black engineer boots, jeans, 3-row pyramid-spike black leather belt, and a Johnny Cash T-shirt that I tore the sleeves off of.Oh and on my right wrist I have a red cloth bracelet with a black cross clasp that says "Happy Birthday Jesus!," which I stole from my kids. The thing of it is, being a musician is all about expressing your individuality, and if you're going to be onstage anyhow why limit it to only your musical expression? I'd never do that. Hell, onstage I wear yellow-tinted shades with big clunky Buddy Holly type frames. The yellow because they're the only ones that work in a dark club (I need them because they're prescription) and the frames because I do actually love Buddy Holly (not to mention I'm married and I figured they'd keep women from hitting on me, not that I've ever had too much problem with that!) and they're fairly indestructible. I can't remember how many times I've had an "Angus moment" and at the end of a song had to retrieve those shades from halfway across the stage, but those frames take a licking and keep on ticking! My wife freaking HATES those shades. So they've just become a part of my stage persona.Frankly, people WANT their musicians to be a little quirky. I know I do. A lot of musicians forget that we are performers and not just studio musicians (by the way-- the only people on earth who, as a group, are consistently flakier than musos?: actors!). I want someone onstage who is engaged and engaging, and at least a smidgen of thought about one's appearance can go a long way in that department.End of rant. You could pick one up for just a few Benjamins!I love it that Aaron gigs it, even at "big" high profile shows.I gig my Agile P-90 Valkyrie as well. Main difference: I never have any big high-profile shows. And I could never afford an Orange. BK

I don't have any guitars that I paid over $500 for, but all of them play fantastic and sound great, and I've done little things to all of them to make them work for me. And the Orange wasn't that expensive. I paid $1225 (shipping included) for the whole rig (AD30TC head and 2x12 cab with V30's). I did sell two $500 amps to get it: A Peavey Delta Blues with the 4x10 ext. cab, and an Egnater TOL50 head. But I knew what i wanted, and I don't regret it one bit. I'd rather have one amp that I love than a bunch that I only feel so-so about. BTW, Brian we're gonna be buying a van in the next couple of weeks, and the album is supposed to be out in Sept. (knock on wood). Let me know if there is anything hoppin up north florida way.

Hey do either of you know for sure about the soapbars in the Talman? I've seen conflicting reports about whether they're single-coil P-90s or are more like P-100s with a second coil. Which is it? Crash Pad is a mess right now and not booking anything until we get our membership straightened out. That being said next weekend (actually Wednesday through Sunday, Aug 24-28) is the annual Gainesville Summer Music and Film Fest, so both bands will be playing then (I got the Crash Pad drummer who's leaving to sit in) . I encourage any music fans in the area to come to Gainesville for a night or 3, those fests (locally referred to as "Moefest," for it's promoter) are always fun.If a currently pending schedule-change goes through, Crash Pad will play Saturday night and the HotHeads will play at the y'alternative BBQ/wrap party Sunday afternnoon.BK
