Members tucktronix
This has to go in my gig history as one of the strangest gigs ever, but here goes: I was asked to cover a gig for the band's keyboardist, as he was going to be out of town and would be unable to attend the gig. Naturally, I agreed to do so. A phone call came in Saturday late afternoon(before the evening gig) from the band's manager, "the lead singer/guitarist won't be able to make it in to the gig tonight, can you find another frontman that can take his place?" My wife and I had called a few guitarists, all of which couldn't do the gig. Well, it ended up that the gig would have to be played minus a guitarist/frontman, basically the club owner expecting the band to play and it being good business to honor the contract. So, I went off to the gig, the bass player and drummer arriving there a little later. The bass player decided to bring his guitar, much to my demise. Of course, with my left-hand bass sucking major ass, I had to try to make it happen. We blew through the first 4 songs with the bass player on guitar and, believe it or not, the audience was very receptive, with members of the audience even going out to the dance floor! I was amazed. I was playing piano with some left-hand bass and the people were diggin' it. Many people remained at the club until we were done, and gave us a heck of a lot of praise! Needless to say, the club owner was very pleased.
Members MDLMUSIC
My favorite bassplayer joke... How many bass players does it take to screw in a light bulb? None. The keyboard player does it with his left hand.
