Members doubleR
Played a killer gig Saturday night. Adrenaline, alcohol, caffeine....it took me forever to get to sleep when I got home, and I woke up wwwaaaayyyy too early the next morning. Tired, but a good tired. I'm still pumped over how good we played and the reaction of the crowd.

Members orfalot
I understand where you are coming from. After a great gig you're so pumped up and when those eyes first pop open the next morning you start thinking about it again and its hard to get back to sleep! Members theAntihero
Oddly after a great gig i sleep like the dead, usually after an awful lot of caffiene. I must put a lot of mental energy into playing because i dontjump around, headbang or nothing:confused:
Members Scafeets
After the gig, my band ususally hits a diner and has breakfast. We get to talk over the gig and that helps get it out of the system. And we're sufficiently full of eggs, toast, etc. that we sleep soundly by the time we get home. On long trips, the drivers add the requisite dose of caffeine to stay awake until we get there. I have the luxury of a garage at my place, and I generally leave my gear in the car unti I wake up the next day.The approach has worked for more than 30 years for this ol road dawg. Members JBJ
i've never noticed that to be honest. sometimes i mentally exhaust myself and it's wierd like when you come back from a great holiday and you're on a downer or whatever. usually i just lay in bed hungover wondering exactly how late i'm going to wind up being for whatever I have on for the day. Members mstreck
Yes! Great shows give you that adrenaline rush that gets you up early and supplies you with all dorts of extra energy! I just experienced that (again) after last night's show! I got home around 3:30 AM and was up before 8:00. The problem for me seems to be that I always end up crashing around noon the next day. That's usually followed by a two or three hour nap. Members mstreck
I wish! There's nothing that puts the wife in the mood like coming home at 3:30 AM, all sweaty and with beer on your breath. Mike
Members JMS 2
No problem with sleeping after a good gig.My issue is rather to actually get to bed after a good gig.I'm usually so pumped up that I feel more like partying all night.(provided the gear is safe)
Members The Hiryuu
I have to struggle to stay awake to drive home after any gig...during them too, even, sometimes. The second I get home I'm out like a light. I honestly wouldn't have the energy required for intercourse. Actually, I usually start feeling sick afterwards.
