Members seahorse
In the past two days I've learned : Should I Stay Or Should I Go - The Clash Red Red Wine - UB40 version ...I didn't learn the rap part. I don't think I could pull it off.

Members B. Adams
In the last 2 weeks: Best of You - by the Foo Fighters I Touch Myself - the Devinyls Hide Your Love Away - Beetles, Pearl Jam, etc. I also learned the keyboard riff from Final Countdown by Europe, but I haven't actually played that in public (and I probably won't ) I don't do a lot of covers, so I just do a few that seem interesting at the time. And I usually don't do the same covers at 2 shows in a row, which is easy because I only play 3 or 4 covers a night at the most. I have a hard enough time trying to remember my own songs, I don't feel the need to work too hard at someone else's.
Members Cortfan
We have a gig coming up this Saturday that wants some disco, so we learned about 5 disco songs, and "Friends" by Elton John. We also learned about 5 reggae songs, just because we like to play them.
Members Brian Krashpad
I never learn covers. Except at church, and they're not really learned since I use lead sheets. I did write a new song a week ago today though. BK
Members axe2 2001
I have a 3 piece side project goin on. We're doing your basic 3 piece stuff. Clapton, Hendrix, ZZ top and blues based stuff. I'm the guitarist. Our drummer brought up two songs last week. Natural One by Funk Implosion and Doin Time by sublime. At first I was totally opposed to them. I like the songs but there is really not much guitar work . I'm like , Dude what are you thinking? there is no guitar! He says, your good at improv, just make some {censored} up. Natural one does have guitar in it, just nothing loike i'm used to. The other is mostly keyboard stuff with a little guitar in it. Long story short, I pulled out a few pedals and dug into some improv skills. They are my favorite songs to do right now. They may not sound exactly like the originals but just full of vibe. Alot of the keyboard parts I do clean with some delay and chorus and then do harmonic chime stuff. WAY different than anything else we do but really a nice change of pace. It's good to step out of the box once in a while.
Members Greg Bogoshian
I know it's not rock, but our group is learning probably the most haunting and emotional and demanding piece of music I have ever heard... "Prayer for the Children." We worked on it for about an hour and a half last night and I have no voice left. Powerful and demanding piece of music both in range and dynamics. Very unusual timing and harmonies... Far and away the most difficult piece we have ever attempted and it is acapella. We will be performing it live next month along with our "regular set..." It features tenor pretty heavily, and I am pretty much it. We had a "guest" from Juliard sit in with us at rehearsal last night also on tenor and I was told I was the only one who really got it right. Members JacieFB
I've been working on being able to sing and play "Demolition Man" from The Police. I've had that bassline down for a long time now, but have never just put my all into being able to sing it.
Members Outrider
We wanted to add some good boogie woogie dance music to our set, something along the lines of "I know a Little" by Skynyrd, but the stops in that one make it a little hard to dance to. So we worked up All Night Long by Montgomery Gentry, which has some kickin' harmony lead lines and more energy than any person needs. Another plus is that the vocals are in a moderately sane and manly register right up until the end. Co-written by Charlie Daniels, BTW. Playing it live last weekend tore the place up! We aren't a country band and it wasn't a country bar, but that song makes the floor jump.

Members Mr. Botch
"World Start Shakin", Collective Soul. This is a fun tune as I get to play the tenor sax solo at the end of the tune, not sounding too bad!"Walkin on the Sun/Evil Ways" medley. This is the other new one we've been working on, sounds pretty good and I get to wring out my Nord Electro on it. Hey Boggs , is that "Prayer for the Children" the Kurt Bestor song? That tune gives me goosebumps. He closed his last show with that, just him a-cappela with a vocoder. Surreal.
Members worthyjoe
Last night we learned American Idiot by Green Day and Hey Jealousy by Gin Blossoms. A little old and new. We're gonna try them at our gig tomorrow night.

We are doing the arrangement by Andrea S. Klouse... 4-part (occasionally 5) a capella. Stunning arrangement. Genius piece of music... Thank you for the interest! I have always enjoyed playing along with Collective Soul. Blame has been one of my favorite tunes to play along with... Boggs

Members cherri
Guitar & vox - "They Love Each Other" - Joanna ConnorGuitar & backup vox - "Crazy Dream" - Los Lonely BoysGuitar & Vox - "Gone Gone Gone" - Bad CompanyGuitar & vox - "Green Eyed Lady" - Sugarloaf (I doubt we'll play this out, as it doesn't fit our style, but it's heaps of fun to learn). 12 string guitar & lead vocal on a new original called "12 Miles" We've also dusted off some of the originals from our first CD and jazzed them up. Put a whole new drum part on "Bittersweet", fluffed and polished a couple of the others. It's kind of an exciting time for the band. A good part of last year, the venues we were playing often kept asking us to do more cover tunes. But the places I've booked us into for the next few months are actively encouraging our originals. One booker told me, "If you play Mustang Sally or Sweet Home Chicago, you're fired. When the lights come up, hit 'em in the face with your originals and keep hitting them." My kind of booker. Plus, why put that kind of karma on the wheel...I like practicing in my basement and I'd like to keep it that way. MEANWHILE, just before this, I was trying to learn "Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring". My classical guitar playing skills amount to the first 4 bars of "Fur Elisse", so this is gonna be fun.

Members The Hiryuu
I'm trying to get down Extreme - Rest in Peace (Of course it's a bitch. Fairly easy by Extreme standards, though. Certainly easier than Play With Me...god damn, I still can barely play the solo at half speed.) As for songs I've actually gotten down...Trivium - Like Light to the Flies is probably the most recent one (A bit sloppy on the solos still, though.)
