I retired them for good the night a old creepy dude walked up and sniffed them. Nice... Interestingly, one of our songs was called "Granny Panties." About the toils of removing those things... Members Guitar Guru
Gimmicks only truly work if the artist really believes in the gimmick they are portraying to the crowd. For instance, if you are in a band and decide to dress all goth-like just because you think that's what the crowd wants to see, chances are the crowd will see that you are a poser and hate you even more. I guess you have to really analyze your music and your stage show and determine what would work and what won't. My band sometimes has talks about certain "gimmicks".....we each have our own look on stage, but we sometimes wonder about experimenting ever further. Personally, I think our intense and amazing stage show is our "gimmick"......we sell ourselves well in my opinion. But if you want some gimmick ideas, here's some: -Makeup/face painting-Everyone wearing the same shirt, or hat, or suit...whatever....unity is the key.-Video backdrop on stage....showing some sort of crazy visual for the crowd.-Incoporating a song into an action skit while the song is being played......sword fighting or something. Who knows......sounds lame eh?
