I would like to get a banner with our bands name/logo on it, but I am not sure where to find a place that does it.

Anyone got any ideas? Not sure if it is something I can find on the web or if I need to find a local screen printing type place?

Oh, and if anyone knows what I can expect to shell out for $$ that would helpful info as well.

Thanks,

Pete

You should be able to find places online that do this type of work, use Google to search for "custom banners" maybe....

I'd try to find a local place, its good to give your business to your local area, who knows maybe you'll make some new fans that way too!

My band had a banner made from a local shop that primarily does automotive vinyl graphics, it was just what we wanted and cost around $75.

Our old drummer made us a banner out of car interior vinyl. It's more durable than fabric or the papery stuff you get from Kinkos. Shoot me a PM with your size and color requirements and describe (or attach a pic) what you want on there. I'll see if he(we) can do it and give you a quote.

Here's what he did:

Screw that. There are tons of guys on the web doing stuff like this specifically for hard-working bands trying to promote themselves. I'd much rather support them than give cash to some corporate giants that support the rest of the corporate world's presentations and trade show booths. Keep it in the family.

Get something light, preferably cloth.

It will not be as durable but at least you'll be able to use it (almost) everywhere you go.

In one of my former bands we had a backdrop that was made of this heavy plastic material, with brass eyelets and the works.

We could only use it in like a quarter of the places we played because there was no way to solidly attach it.

It took three roadies at least 15 minutes in most cases...

It was indestructible, but with a piece of cloth you can use thumbtacks in an emergency, or a couple of small nails (don't let the club owner catch you though)

Also, think about the size.

It has to be big enough to be seen, but also small enough that you can use it on smaller stages.

We played gigs where they insisted we put up the banner and you could barely see half of it.
