Members UconnJack
Thought it might be cool to show your bands live set-ups. Forgive me if this has been done before. Last gig, Saturday 10/29:
Members Guitar Guru
Here's my band live.....our semi usual setup....I sometimes use more cabs but it's hard to see in the first picture. The black and white one shows my setup a little bit more closely.
Members dazed1
Check out the attatchment below. Just two 2x12 guitar combos, one 15" 250 watt bass rig and a 1000watt yamaha powered mixer running two 12" wedges and 2 15" mains on sticks. For a small patio or bar (this was outside a Ben and Jerry's on their patio) its plenty loud enough. Inside its more than loud enough.
Members JacieFB
Here's ours from back in January. Since then, the band has gotten a new drummer and a new guitarist. So pretty much just my bass rig is the only thing that's the same...and I have a new amp. But this is a cool pic. That's the point, I guess. Members Brian Krashpad
Here's the side band playing on one of the bigger stages we've graced: Left to right: Bassist w/2x15 cab and head, Rhythm guitarist w/2x12 Sovtek cab and MusicMan head, drummer w/Drummer's Workshop kit, lead guitarist w/Sovtek Tube Midget 50W head into Risson 4x12 cab. Since that picture was taken I usually use a vintage Sunn 200S head for my side band instead of the Sovtek (I still use the Sovtek for my main, punk rock, band): For a very small venue or cramped stage I sometimes will use a 2x12 (a DIY cab made out of a gutted combo amp loaded with 2 silverback Celestions), or my vintage Kustom 1x15 cab, instead of the halfstack. I've also got a "retired" 1966 Super Reverb that gets used as necessary if other stuff is unavailable. (I have a second 4x12 cab, a Laney, I keep at church that could be pressed into service if need be, but in general in stays put.) The rhythm guitarist also has a couple backup heads, one is a Sovtek Mig 50 (which currently needs work), the other is a Marshall Valvestate 100. Our bassist more commonly uses a 4x12 cab than the 2x15 pictured above, but brings the big gun when we're outdoors or he feels the show merits it. Having options and backups is good! I actually made a couple little DIY home-made stickers (I print them out on computer, then cover the topside of the paper with clear packing tape-- result looks like a proper vinyl-coat sticker, then use a glue-stick to affix) of it for the case for my new Ric, which was looking a mite naked compared to all my other cases. Tuck that looks like John Vassalos rig in the outdoor pictures. He does sound for us sometimes. I went to school with him back in the day. He has a good amount of gear. I can remember our drummer, Keith being extremely pissed because the young guy at the sound board was doing such a sh*tty job. His monitor mix was pretty bad, could barely hear the rest of the band over his drums. Speaking of John, I actually know of a John who does sound, we might be talking about the same guy. He looks to be around our age. He's my boy, did sound when I was with Unknown Funk about 8 yrs ago.

The vinyl Ouija Planchette on the drum head was done by my cousin. He has a sign making business. He has big rolls of vinyl and a machine that cuts out patterns. Then he has a roll of sticky tape that gets put on the back of the cutout. Then you have to carefully peal back the backing tape and squeegy(sp?) out the bubbles. Works pretty well...not as convenient as the basic vinyl stickers, but it lasts longer.

Members B Money
our typical setup. We have a single tree of lights (not shown) off to the side of the picture. PA is a simple Carvin 12 channel mixer head, 3 monitors (two up front, one for drummer), and 2 Peavey PV215 FOH speakers. Not great, but not crappy either. It does the job
