Members paul34
We are having difficulties lately when rehearsing , after a few years away from it all have re-started playing again (bass) with a few mates. Trouble is nothing is getting written down ever so anything we do is very simple but effective but repetitive, have been recording bits on to cassette in the hope of salvaging some ideas. Not being a constructive writer myself, am hoping that taking along a few chord changes along with me we can all concentrate on something particular, instead of making something up every week that just ends up repeating itself Is there anywhere on-line i can find chord set ups for songs, have tried looking at beatles songs that i purposely dont know and then maybe writing them down as verse 1, chorus, mid 8 , bridge, outro with respective chord changes in each section and deleting the lyrics. I know what i've got to do as a player, and they can all play chords, what i'm getting as they cant put anything together as a piece its just not set organised, i need something like. Intro ------ B, D (X2) Verse 1. -------- Amin, D, A, G (X4) Bridge ------- ? ? ? Mid 8 ------- ? ? Etc, etc They can play the chords, i know what i'm up to , just needs some obvious guide lines . Thought there might be a site where there are basic chord progressions you can use for practicing without having to delete the words from the original song, and giving clearer layout as above then just be a case of printing a few progressions off to take along to have a jam on rather than trying to learn specific covers. Members Stratfan
I'm in a basement "half-band" (working on getting another 1 or 2 players). What I do is print the chords/tabs/lyrics from on-line tab sites, and then type up copies of the lyrics for each member. (I've always used the tab site here on the HC Main Page.) On the copies, I write in the chord changes above the words. I also type in the Intros, Outros, Bridges, and Solos exactly where they belong in the song with the chord progression. Ex. Bridge - A D A E (2X) It sounds like you want to do something similar. It's much easier for people learning a new song to have all of the parts and lyrics in order right in front of them on a music stand. I keep a binder with all of the song sheets in those plastic see-through covers. You might have to just make them yourself. Even though it's a lot of extra work, these song sheets are a big help. Also, by typing and printing them up yourself you can make them easier to read by enlarging the type size. Occasionally I'll just use the printed copy from the tab site, but sometimes they're hard to follow, or the person who made it plays the song in a different key.
