can't believe no ones said summer of 69 yet

we go a great version that's an acoustic 1st verse and chorus then the full band kicks in and it sounds huge.

we pretend there's some technical {censored} up and i just break out an impromptu acoustic cover and then BAM!!!! watts and watts and watts of bryan adams kicking you directly in the groin before you can say cliched lyrics

"Need You Tonight"- INXS (really big since the show)

"Addicted To Love"- Robert Palmer

"Hurts So Good"- John Cougar

"Purple Rain"- Prince

"What I Like About You"- Romantics

"Red Red Wine"- UB40

"I Want You To Want Me"- Cheap Trick

"Heaven"- Bryan Adams

"Gimme All Your Lovin"- ZZ Top

"Electric Avenue"- Eddie Grant

My Top 10...all gig-tested hundreds of times.

Get better response from Billy Idol's remake of "Mony Mony" than "White Wedding", but I do them both. "Safety Dance" works with a knowledgable crowd.

You are right, they are not must haves but the first 2 I played in one band I got to sit in with my sax in college, the other when I had my own band. It's what you do when you don't want to sound like a classic rock radio station or like every other band with almost identical set lists.
