Members elbow Posted March 18, 2006 Members Posted March 18, 2006 I have too many dream gigs to list here. One of them now might be to get some of the forumites together for a gig... in a non-stalker kind of way.. I continually surprise myself over the years and every now and again something will happen that is ultra-cool and will have me grinning for several days.
Members LateGreats Posted March 18, 2006 Members Posted March 18, 2006 I'd love to play bass in a punk band. Sure, it's not as musically challenging as other genres, but it looks like a helluva lot of fun.
Members Scheming Demon Posted March 18, 2006 Members Posted March 18, 2006 Well if Mike Portnoy or Neil Peart ever want a vacation, I'm there. I also agree about the American Idol band/orchestra, they are truly outstanding.

Sounds like another reality show in the making... perhaps "MAKING THE CUT FROM THE FORUM"

Members bbrunskill Posted March 21, 2006 Members Posted March 21, 2006 Rythmn guitar for switchfoot would be cool!! But really I just want some success with my orginal band.
Members Professor Tom Posted March 22, 2006 Members Posted March 22, 2006 I've already done it. I played as a stand in guitarist at a big festival in 1970 in front of 400,000 people and got to meet most of the Star Players backstage. Come Monday morning I was a nobody again, but for those three days I was on top of the world. I haven't thought about it for years, until now. Good memory.
Members SanDiego333 Posted March 23, 2006 Members Posted March 23, 2006 Brian Wilson. Pet Sounds tour. After that, I could just drop the bat and walk away, like Barry Bonds when he sees that steroid laden ball flying 500 feet away. He is (was....) a {censored}ing genius. His brother Carl inspired me to start playing guitar back in the 70's. I visit his grave on the anniversary of his death. Weird? Brings me peace.
Members depdude19 Posted March 23, 2006 Members Posted March 23, 2006 My wife is in the audience, unknown to me. She sends me an anonymous note..."I really like your guitar playing. See you after the show." She meets me backstage afterward. And is ALL over me with her mouth.

Drop some names.... please...... Bath Festival, Shepton Mallet 1970. I was in a pick up band that jammed in between some of the name acts while equipment was being changed over, nothing wonderful, no one famous.I met a lot of the name acts backstage, Led Zep, Grace Slick, Santana, Canned Heat, The Byrds. etc. Roger McGuinn and his men were really nice guys and their set as the sun rose after a rain storm (all acoustic) was the highlight. I'm told that he treasures the memory of that set to this day. It was all a long time ago, now !
