Members anoren Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 I am in a Brooklyn band that recently completed an album and posted it online for download. It is rough and DIY, but good fun. You can check out four songs and find out more about us on our myspace page: www.myspace.com/academymusic or go straight for the throat and download the whole thing at: www.academyny.com Any feedback would be appreciated. And I would be happy to answer any questions. Best regards, adam p.s. from our myspace page: Sounds like: Bob Dylan meets Mission of Burma Merle Haggard meets Pavement Bruce Springsteen meets the Minutemen Scott Walker meets the Mekons Judee Sill meets Wire Van Morrison meets the Pixies About Academy: In a final paroxysm of volume before the death of Academy as a live performing act, Adam, Isaac, Jackie, Alan, and Ryan went into a tiny studio in a Williamsburg basement and recorded 13 songs in seven hours. Over the course of a few additional nights, Isaac, Jackie, and Adam re-recorded and touched up vocals in the after hours with Alan in Manhattan. With a top to bottom production cost of under $500, Academy are proud to offer our independent rock to you for the low, low price of FREE. To download mp3

Members Mr Bliss Posted March 25, 2006 Members Posted March 25, 2006 I didn't download the album, just listened to the tunes on your myspace. My ears didn't prick until I heard Sunny In The Mornin'. Good song there, great groove.
Members Blackwatch Posted March 25, 2006 Members Posted March 25, 2006 I think a free album is worth every penny.....

The songs cover a variety of different feels, so it would make sense to like one song and not the others. If you have a chance, I think you might like Black Eye as well. It is somewhat similar in sound and feel. adam
