Members BandProfit Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 This may be a silly question,but... What would you choose to be if you had no God given musical talent what-so-ever? Just curious to see what your other interests in life are. - Sean

I think anyone can learn to play music ,,,, singing may be a different story since in that case the human body is the musical instrument. Anyone that i know thats good at playing ,, spend many many hours with their instrument practicing. The question is ,, is there such a thing as a natural? rat

Yeah. "You don't know real art when you hear it! I've made 3 CDs in my basement!"
Members elbow Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 I guess that fits the Limp Bizkit thang too
Members BandProfit Posted March 24, 2006 Author Members Posted March 24, 2006 Umm Ok??? rhat, I was just looking to see what you would consider a secondary passion/alternative if music were not the focus of your life. I was not looking to get into a philosophical debate on existentialism versus theology. I thouroughly enjoy such discussions. But that was not the focus of this post. Sorry if I misled you? - Sean

Members mangojeep66 Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 I wouldn't be the dumbass that I am. Hopefully, I would be an Engineer like my brothers. blacksheep syndrom, and paying for it the rest of my life.
Members curet30 Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 I may have been a Major League Baseball player. I played up until high school; that's when I realized that singing pulled in more women than starting 2nd base and being the leadoff hitter on the high school team. The fact we finished last was incentinve for me to pursue a music career too. Looking back, I'd probably be a utility infielder, like Miguel Cairo of the New York Yankees. But you know what?, I'd probably earn at least 1 million just to play second string and that would suit me fine!
Members cherri Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 I'd most likely stay involved with music in another capacity - booking, managing, marketing. If music wasn't an option at all, I'd go back to my original creative outlet, writing. Lurk around with a spiral notebook clutched in my sweaty hands, inventing new universes.
Members BlueStrat Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 Commercial or graphic artist or illustrator.
Members Blackwatch Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 I'd be in another incredably lucrative money profession.....I'd be a writer also.....
Members HuskerDude Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 I'd be a music critic. That seems to be the standard career for folks who know nothing about music.

Members zookie Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 That do mean "If" I didn't have any musial ability? My first real gigging experience happened after I'd moved to NYC. I had it in my head to become a playwright and was hawking scripts to off-off-off-off (you get the idea) Broadway theaters. Music was a side-line and I can't really recall how I fell into the opportunities I had, but I found I was playing music more than I was writing, so that's where I went. If I had an ounce of common sense, though, I would have stayed in school, where I stood a better chance of eventually becoming a teacher than I ever stood becoming a rock star.

Members Crusher Posted March 24, 2006 Members Posted March 24, 2006 I have several other interests. If for some reason I couldn't play guitar or drums, I'd probably focus more on playing billiards (I have a pool table at home)
Moderators MrKnobs Posted March 25, 2006 Moderators Posted March 25, 2006 I'd be a scientist, just like I am. for exactly that reason Terry D.
