My only point was that this sort of thing has been happening periodically for many years. Google the term "gerrymandering" and you will get the historical perspective on it.

Oh, and by the way, I did check out the congressional maps. Most of Texas doesn't really look any stranger than Florida or several other states. The oddest looking IMHO is California, but I guess that's to be expected.
