Whenever I'm at a show and a mosh pit starts up around me, I just keep my elbows at eye level, and am usually not bothered.

Also, that whole "core" dancing thing is running out of steam. Everyone is starting to realize how stupid that is. I've taken to kicking them in the ass; it sends them lurching forward and they lose their rhythm.

A mosh pit at a huge concert is one thing (still not my scene) but in front of a band at a club...just dangerous, a step closer to fighting and a step closer to breaking up my lights, PA, instruments, etc. If the club has security, they are normally shut down or tossed.

Depends entirely on the venue, music being played, and how the people are moshing. Can be perfectly appropriate and relatively safe, or stupid and dangerous.
