Members ChrisAlgoo Posted April 27, 2010 Members Posted April 27, 2010 Can someone recommend something that you can listen to on long train rides and learn what different things sound like? Ideally it shouldn't require any books or writing, just someone talking into your ear and playing some intervals and rhythms and things. Thanks!

Members Steve Nixon Posted April 27, 2010 Members Posted April 27, 2010 The only actual program that I've ever personally used is the Jamey Aebersold Ear Training Program. It is a fantastic program but more advanced. For a more fundamental based program try the one from Musician's Institute. I haven't personally used it but I know they make good products. Please make sure you sit at the piano as well and study sounds. When I was in college I did over 1200 hours of this and that's been the true difference. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Musicians-Institute-Ear-Training-for-All-Musicians--Book---2-CD-Set--777249-i1162431.gc
