Members Dancebass Posted November 3, 2010 Members Posted November 3, 2010 Over the past year the band has been having trouble with traveling out of town. Minor stuff, but it all had to do with us not owning a van. We've been rotating back and forth using two of the guys SUV's to pull a trailer. It's worked, but we've had some transmission issues and yadda yadda yadda. Anyway, we've been slowly building up cash and keeping our eye out for a good van. I just got back from the bank buying this one!! http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/2032202882.html Woo - Hoo!! Got a good deal off the listed price too!
Members Rezrover Posted November 3, 2010 Members Posted November 3, 2010 And you could still pull a trailer with that.
Members StratGuy22 Posted November 3, 2010 Members Posted November 3, 2010 I see a few bands here and there with those short busses. The reason... Wheelchair lift

Members wheresgrant3 Posted November 3, 2010 Members Posted November 3, 2010 Congrats.... mobility is a great thing. Just be aware of the costs of maintence involved. Here's a video (van break downs) of van/trailer mishaps we've had.

Members Dancebass Posted November 3, 2010 Author Members Posted November 3, 2010 Squeezing into street parking with a trailer, ugh. Congrats on the van! Thanks man. Yea, it's amazing how using a trailer limits you. We always had to have it back to UHAUL by 12:00 on Sunday to keep from having to pay for an extra day. UHAUL would never have it ready for us when we got there to pick it up.....etc.

Members Kramerguy Posted November 3, 2010 Members Posted November 3, 2010 Welcome to the wonderful world of putting 50% of your gig $$ into the gas tank
Members musicmanmu Posted November 3, 2010 Members Posted November 3, 2010 Welcome to the wonderful world of putting 50% of your gig $$ into the gas tank I'm sure they were doing that when pulling a trailer full of gear and an SUV full of dudes anyway, but yeah, it will be a pain on the wallet, but a lot easier in other aspects! Definitely avoid the trailer if you can - they are a huge pain, but not as bad as a 31 foot RV in downtown Miami...
Members snoggin Posted November 3, 2010 Members Posted November 3, 2010 I got one just like that but a 9 9 with 40k on it for 6 grand .already fit out as band van with a divider in the back for the gear and mesh behind the glass .Very nice
