Song and Set List arrangement

Hello all! It's been awhile since ive been able to get back!

I find myself in a classic rock/alt rock band with an incredible singer who can actually pull off about everything we try....a high energy front man with a set of serious pipes..

just makes everyone else's job easier.

My query is this set list, which has been doing us very well

(some songs we rarely play(like dio, priest etc...)unless it,s a lot full of bikes..

So if you were to arrange these songs into a (3 or 4 sets)full night..

How would you do it?,What would you leave in the tank?,And what would be some song ideas to add to the list?...

1. mary janes last dance

2. hashpipe

3. bad girlfriend

4. rebel yell

5. paralyzer

6. hard to handle

7. sex type thing

8. enter sandman

9. inxs medley(devil inside/new sensation/what u need

10. come out and play(keep

I love your set list... However, that doesn't mean it will work.

I would strongly suggest that your band puts some leg work in, visit the bars YOU guys want to play. Listen to what the bands at these clubs are playing. Check out whats working, what isn't.

This isn't to say you need to copy their list. But if random hit A for Def leppard is hitting the sweet spot, that may be a hint to either play THAT song or another hit song from that same album. It still remains your choice, and in the end your gamble.

Just a suggestion.

Some good stuff on that list. Anybody who would follow up a Nickelback tune with a Doors tune has got quite the catholic tastes (and I don't mean that in the religious sense).

I generally play for a somewhat older crowd, so most of my songs were hits in the 1970's and before, but the way I generally set up my setlists is 3 or 4 fast songs followed up by a slow song. Too many fast songs in a row and some of those senior citizens out there are going to drop over with coronaries. Plus there are a lot of audience members who just won't dance to rockers but they'll get out there when all they have to do is hold on to their partner and sway.

Thanks everyone. We are out of frederick,md.,which is about 40 min from balt and wash.

The city has actually gotten quite large in population over the last 10 years.

We are going to be moving our gigs more towards that area(balt/wash)...if we go with the agency the purple moose in oc md., could be a good time for you cats in delaware...

Or if we make it up to PA,if your that way.

We have been doing a bit of "scouting" to see what up with the scene and what's working at what rooms.

Weve been tailoring the list towards the crowd age thus far. It seems to be working well,we are still trying to figure how to get the people more into set 1..seems that's a common problem.

What are some of your guy's opening numbers?
