Hey, great idea! I see some songs here that I think I should learn and add to my collection. I also see that many of us have common songs. I was very surprised to see "Hard Luck Woman"

I have almost 100 cover tunes learned, but here's what I played at a gig this past weekend. Crowd was an older crowd...

Jailhouse Rock

Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting

50's Medley (Hound Dog, Rock Around The Clock, Don't Be Cruel)

Soul Man

Brown Eyed Girl

Your Song

If You Could Read My Mind

Crocodile Rock

Cute As A Bug

Go Your Own Way

Misunderstanding

My Baby Don't Tolerate

Anthony's Song

My Life

Johnny B Goode

Pretty Woman

You Can't Hurry Love

Piano Man

Just the way you are

Just What I Needed

Love Her Madly

Margaritaville

The Devil's Right Hand

Hard Luck Woman

Proud Mary

Runaround Sue

You Might Think

Give Up You

Born To Be Wild

And I Love Her

Let It Be

Tell Me

The House is Rockin'

Don't Go Back To Rockville

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

You Can't Always Get What You Want

The Want In Me

Coming of Age

Her Kisses Burn Like Sugar Cane

San Jose Mining Disaster #9

Field of Grass

Momentum (The Rowing Song)

Your Eyes Will Taste of the Flowers

Blood in Baltimore

Working Man

Tears For Joanna

All originals, a couple co-written, but that's what I'm working with for a 45 min-1 hour set. The more I write, the longer it'll get, but those 10 are the "keepers" I have. If for whatever reason, I need to have covers (not usually), I'll pick among these:

Both Sides Now (Joni Mitchell)

I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free (Nina Simone)

Me and My Uncle (Grateful Dead)

Changes (Phil Ochs)

Leaving London (Tom Paxton)

The Mary Ellen Carter (Stan Rogers)

No Man's Land (Eric Bogle)

A Man's a Man For a'That (Robert Burns)

I rarely need more than that, as my gigs are usually pretty short - festival-sized sets, if you will, or on a larger bill. I also have the general Scottish, Irish, and American traditional song primers in my repertoire if I need more.

These are great set lists. I have seen a lot of songs we do in the duo I play in, and a number that are good one's that we should do. Here are a couple that we do that I don't think I saw mentioned, but that get good audience response for us.

Sister Hazel - All for You

Paul Simon - Graceland

Santana/Rob Thomas - Smooth

Barenaked Ladies - If I had a Million Dollars (people always sing along with the 'response' lines)

Soul Asylum - Runaway Train

Joe Jackson - Is She Really Goin Out With Him

Cars - Best Friends Girl

Decemberists - Down By The Water

Citizen Cope - Sideways

Little Feat - Dixie Chicken

Adding some of your songs to ours...thank!

A song I thing every acoustic act should do since it's dancable and works well with guitar only and voice and is semi-current is "Hey Girl" by OAR. People love it!
