Members scottop1972 Posted April 24, 2007 Members Posted April 24, 2007 Anyone have any thoughts on the mosvalve 962 and how it works with either the mp1, studio, or quad preamps? its a SS amp.... I have the 1160 and am happy with it... i was running boss gt8 inot power then to cabs... i am not sure if i like it completely but it does sound ok. tell me more about the preamps your looking at.... i am tempted to go with a rack preamp and effects and midi controller....
Members 4nkam Posted April 24, 2007 Author Members Posted April 24, 2007 Well, right now I use 2 ada mp1 preamps, a mesa studio, and a mesa quad into the power section of my recto. Using the gcx, I can either use any of the preamps (but only 1 at a time) into the recto power section, or just the full recto itself. So I am eventually gonna get a mesa or VHT poweramp, but I came across a good deal on a 962 and I know a bunch of folks have used them and had some good stuff to say about it so I didn't wanna pass it up
Members Sandman31774 Posted April 24, 2007 Members Posted April 24, 2007 i hear it's awesome..didnt' jerry cantrell use a mosvalve and bogner fish?...anyway i highly recommend vht poweramps
Members El Grinder Posted April 24, 2007 Members Posted April 24, 2007 I'm using a mosvalve 1160 at the moment.. It sounds decent, not way powerful or way tight sounding though. It's nice and light at 12 lbs, so easy to carry. The fan is QUITE noisy though.
Members J.Paul Posted May 8, 2007 Members Posted May 8, 2007 I've got the next model down (462 ?) and used it for frat stuff...was happy with that. Was pretty reliable for the xxxthousand of miles it logged in the back of the trailerThe 962 is almost twice as loud? That seems unessecary to me.
Members dimmypage Posted May 12, 2007 Members Posted May 12, 2007 I have a MV 962 running with 3 different preamps and Im pretty darn happy:thu:
