Tangent, a 30-year tenured professional band in The Hudson Valley Region, predominantly in Orange County, is looking for a Lead Guitarist to join us on a full-time basis.
Tangent is a classic, contemporary and alternative rock & roll cover band playing music from the late 60’s to current. Tangent performs roughly 20 shows per year. We are: a lead singer (sometimes acoustic guitar & percussion), keyboard player, bass player and drummer.  All performers sing some back-up & lead. As guitarist, occasional vocal background or lead vocals is a definite plus. Our performance schedule is usually one or two shows per month with a few extras during the summer concert series. We have (and truly enjoy) an eclectic set of musical genres including Elton John, Jethro Tull, John Legend, The Beatles, Foo Fighters, Cream, CSN&Y, Jack Johnson, Match-Box 20, Moody Blues, Tim McGraw, Steely Dan, Goo Goo Dolls, Santana, Billy Joel, Amy Winehouse, Green Day, Bruce, Petty, Stones…… We thrive on creative song selection and exceptional interpretation and performance. Our audiences reflect the excitement and fun energy we bring. Interested guitarists should have experience in all aspects of live music performance and production, from set-up to break down. Rehearsals are occasional and focused on practicing new songs. We have a just replaced our sound system with brand new equipment. We are currently booked through June ’24. Past & Future Venues include Mattingly’s Tavern, Penning's Farm Market, Resorts World Catskill, Museum at Bethel Woods, The Captain’s Table, too many festivals, birthdays, corporate events, weddings, to count……..  We started this band when we were much younger (we’re all over 60 now) but have maintained our love for music and performing as we did originally. We’re still the same: a bunch of musicians that like to play and have fun.
