Members nbaldwinn
I'm doing home recordings of vocals with guitar riffs or backtracks using a Focusrite 18i8 interface and Ableton Live 11 Lite DAW. I've been cleaning up old recordings and am surprised that any new vocal I lay down are at least 8 decibels quieter than the original vocals and the reverb needs to be upped substantially. The problem isn't in my go-to mic (volumes diminished with other mics), nor is it a problem with the interface inputs, or the DAW (Ableton Live 10 and 11 have the problem). I've noticed that my computer fan is on heavily when I record and don't recall that in the past. Am I looking in the right place in assuming that it's a computer problem? Do I need something updated or a new processor/computer? My computer is a i5-3350P@ 3.19GHz processor with 16GB of RAM running Windows 10 Pro. I've been away from Harmony Central for awhile now (used to interact a lot with the live performance soundmen, as well as the vocalists) and always appreciated what I learn here!
