Help me choose a new powered sub

Yeah I know, how many of these threads are there. One thing though the subs Im looking at dont get covered alot.

My needs are for a small but lightweight and easy to load and move around sub. My pack space is very limited in a Astro van that also carries a drumset and the wifeys guitar rig. My venues are for the most part small church type events but with live rock music. Full sized band most of the time and just about everything goes through the mixer. My current tops are powered FBT Maxx4a's. Most of my events are small enough I probably could get by with a decent set of 15" and that is a route I could take.

My goal is to buy one really nice powered sub now and pick up another later down the road. I just sold my 2 SRX718s to do this and I have about $1500-2000 dollar budget. My three choices are:

1. JBL VRX918SP

http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/General/Product.aspx?PId=40&MId=4

2. KV2 EX2.2

http://www.kv2audio.com/product.asp?ProdID=EX2.2&ProdSeries=EX

3. RCF 905-AS

http://www.rcf.it/en_US/web/rcf/products/pro-speaker-systems/art-7-series/art-905-as

Because Ive been using the SRX718s for a while I feel like I will know what the VRX sub will do and how it sounds.

This sub has castor mounts and I have castors that will mount on the sub. Its very easy to load, no real lifting. Its not the loudest according to the spec's but its in the ball park.

Ive never heard either of the other two listed but the KV2 has so many positive reviews and Ned just sold his 718's in favor of the EX sub. I wouldnt mind trying this sub but the friggin thing weighs 108 pounds.

I dont know anyone that has tried the RCF yet, the 705 has good reviews so Im guessing that the 905 should atleast be as good. Its pretty light at 75 pounds.

Im thinking about the K Sub as well, I can get two of them in the budget. The bandpass thingy kinda scares me and Im just not sure about the subs and live sound. Only a few DJ's have them.

Anyone have any thoughts you might want to share regarding these subs? I want to order something first of the week. We have a few gigs coming up that will take us up to Salem OR and Yakima WA in the middle of August so I want to jump on this now.

The EX2.2 is just under 100 lbs. I think the 108 number is shipping weight. Another one that may be worth considering is the new FBT HiMaxx100SA:

I haven't seen a full spec sheet on these but have read that it is about 91 lbs. If it sounds as good as the 10sa it should be a great performer.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Ned, have you had any gigs where you have only used one single 2.2? If so could you describe the gig a little? Amount of water bags?

jgthatsme, you may be correct. I was told by a rep that the Art 7## series has the new in house amps while the 3## and 5## has Powersoft made amps.

Mike, I wish I could hear that FBT, likewise the EX2.2. One reason the VRX is at the top of the list right now is that I have a good idea what it will sound like. I might try calling the KV2 distro Monday to see if I can get a demo.

Yes, we played a wedding. Room was very wide but we played to the short depth, stage - dance floor - Bridal party table. Ran 1 EX2.2 with the 715's and the ITech4000 with the same settings we used the week before (120Hz xover with a 5db bump). All we had to do was turn the EX2.2 gain from -6 to unity and it kept up easily.

We'll probably use 1 most of the time.
