Members Kjtcall1991
My girl inherited a Les Paul from her grandfather. She’s been told be several people that it’s from the 1970’s. I’m needing help to verify that. The reason is she wants to sell it, due to negative family history. I don’t want her to get screwed over if it is as old as everyone is telling her. Any help appreciated.
Members badpenguin
NOT a Gibson, and NOT from the 70's. Epiphone, Made in Korea by SAEIN, in either 86, 96, or 2006. To my eyes, 96. Value? Around 300-350 on average.

Results for serial number 16081734 This Epiphone guitar was made in 1991 in Korea It's NOT a 1, it's an I, as in "i" in the beginning of the serial number. That shows Saien as builder, the rest of the serial number starting with the 6, shows the last year of the decade it was built in. ie: 86, 96, 06. Saien wasn't under contract by Gibson in 86, Samick was, and the Gibson truss rod cover wasn't used in 06. so.... 96.
