Members James Coxon
I own a Gretsch Streamliner G2420 and I've got this problem with it where sometimes I get no output from the guitar. I put my guitar lead in the output jack and get no sound through the amp sometimes. I have to wiggle it around to get an output but it can go off after a bit of playing it, almost like it looses the output. I'm not sure what the problem is exactly, wondering if anyone had any idea whether it's the output jack or electronics or what. Also if you have any idea how much a repair job on it would be that'd be great (from a repair shop, don't trust my self), just looking at selling it. Any questions feel free to ask and cheers. Moderators daddymack Posted April 27, 2021 Moderators Share Posted April 27, 2021 Let's start with teh two most likely suspects: loose jack or bad cable, both easily verifiable and easy to fix. Have you experienced the 'signal loss' with a different cable? Rule #1...make sure your cable is good. Rule #2: always have a backup cable. Is the nut on the output jack tight or loose? If it is loose, tighten it. Also check the nut on the amplifier input You can do it!
Members StratMonster17
I totally agree with Daddymack. Check the cheap easy fixes first. Cable seems likely, and next would be a loose jack. Good luck and Let us know what you find!
Members jjmaingrain
As above, also the possibility of a faulty jack/bad connection in there
