Members loiner1965 Posted February 18, 2021 Members Share Posted February 18, 2021 had this guitar for many years and decided to revive it but like to know what model it is.... serial number indidcates its made in japan and 1992 gotoh tuners 22 frets single and 1 humbucker.....ones been replaced but not sure which one unless i strip down. no tone or volume controls fitted it as a trem but no makers name so i presume its a starfield one.... its in good condition but someone fitted a aluminium scratch plate to it so i need to source a new one and also an electric cover on the back. still plays nice even with the old strings lol i am not a player as such but i used to collect amps and guitars years ago and this is one of them.... many thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Members loiner1965 Posted February 18, 2021 Author Members Share Posted February 18, 2021 sussed what it is from a kind gentleman from another forum.... it is a altair classic but.......previous owner (bubba)as replaced the scratch plate with aluminium checker plate and inserted a gibson usa humbucker at the bridge. underneath scratch plate it had routing for 3 single coils but he bubbared it to accept the humbucker. he removed both tone and volume controls and inserted the 3 way selector switch which should have been on the scratch plate and placed it in the volume cavity on the body. will now source parts and convert back to original Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
