Members Reyno
Hello , someone has asked me to try and fix their sx guitar. I have to replace the guitar nut and not sure how to find the correct size. What would be the correct way to do it.
Members DeepEnd
Since their web site doesn't give a nut width (http://www.sx-guitar.com/index.php/Products/detail/pid/1/id/276) I'd just measure with a ruler. I know some folks prefer to make a nut from a blank but I use premade TUSQ nuts from eBay and modify them as needed. Any premade nut you buy will need to be filed, sanded, etc. anyway. What's wrong with the nut that's on it?

If you don't know how, give them the guitar back, and tell them to take it to a qualified instrument repair technician.
