Gibson acquires Mesa/Boogie amps

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.  Most acquisitions do not bode well for the acquired company.  I hope that Gibson keeps a "loose rein" on Mesa, so Mesa can produce the amps that many have come to love.

Harkening back - GM's acquisition of SAAB was a marriage made in hell.  GM needed cost cuts and the SAAB engineers insisted on having an exceptionally safe car.  Both lost.  SAAB is out of business.

I just hope that Mesa and Gibson can play well together.  It's a lot to ask when the bean-counters are ruling the roost - but maybe Gibson has some "enlightened" bean counters that see that cost-cutting for Mesa will kill the brand.

Cross your fingers.
