I picked Fender Custom Shop 1960's Stratocaster over Schecter, Tom Anderson, Suhr

I have been looking for a new strat during past few months, and was recommended a number of strat body guitars including Schecter, Tom Anderson, Suhr. I was told they were supposed to be "improved" version of the Fender Stratocaster.

I was able to try all of them, and guess what I got in the end - Fender Stratocaster. I don't know, something in the Fender was different, traditional, elegant, familiar. It's very hard to describe, but I liked how the Fender felt more than the other recommended "improved" strats.

Attached some pics of the guitar - I love the combination of rosewood fretboard and flamed maple neck / headstock.

Nice playing and it is indeed a gorgeous guitar, But why so much oil on the fretboard?

Haha! Think it’s the combination of lighting and a lot of playing this guitar recently.

I thought it was oiled slick but like you pointed out it must be the lighting  .Glad I was wrong
