The Recording King RD-126 "Torch" is an all-solid wood Herringbone Dreadnought acoustic featuring the most authentic pre-war-style construction. Discontinued, it is destined to become collectible by players and pre-war enthusiasts.

This guitar is great for gigging or front porch picking with a great acoustic sound across all strings. The solid Sitka Spurce Top, solid Mahogany Back and Sides, Scalloped Pre-War Forward-X Bracing, and Ebony Bridge/Freatboard paired with a Bone Nut and Saddle makes this guitar loud with excellent sustain. The Herringbone inlay and "Torch" headstock inlay round out the Pre-War classic "Martinish" ascetic.

The neck is perfectly straight using a Notched Straight Edge Luthiers Tool and the action is .009 at 12th Fret. The accurate 18:1 Butterbean Open Back Grover Tuners complete the pre-war package.

Installed a K&K Sound Pure Mini Acoustic Guitar Pick-up, a Chrome Strap Button along with unbleached Bone Bridge Pins with Inlaid Abalone Dots and setup with a set of Elixir Phosphor Bronze Nano Light Gauge Guitar Strings the guitar plays like butter and has that full-bodied classic cannon sound.

Thanks for the review, Keith.

I own a Recording King 000 slot-head, parlour guitar - my "most-played" steel string. I've played a few other models too and all have been excellent. A good brand that deserves more attention.
