Members Illuzion30
Sorry if this has already been answered. I looked and didnt see anything. I recently picked up a Rackmount 600w Kemper profiler and want to try it out with my 2 Mesa Standard 4x12s. The book says it operates at 8ohm or 16ohm. The Cabinets I believe are 8 ohms. How can I rig this thing safely? Is there another attachment I need? Thanks!
Members Grant Harding
The Kemper power amp is mono, so if you want to run both you'll want them in series (8 + 8 = 16), rather than in parallel (4 ohms). I'd just use one, personally and let the Main output(s) to the PA carry the audience sound. If you just want to run both cabs in stereo you'll need an external stereo power amp. Members DeepEnd
Grant is correct as usual but I'd also be very careful cranking it up with a single cab since your Mesas are "only" rated to handle 240 Watts. In fact, both together would "only" be rated for 480 Watts.
Members Grant Harding
Good point! There's a -12db setting in the Kemper Output menu that I'd recommend.
