Members Gibson29
Any reso players? It’s aluminum, doesn’t that metal suck for tone? Inquiring minds want to know! Nice to see some innovation on old stuff. At least the saddle’s intonated. And easier action adjustments if I’m reading the spec right. https://www.nationalguitars.com/product-page/revolution-biscuit-bridge-base

I think they used an ebony brige on it. I have never taken it apart. That 33H was made in California. just around the time Gibson purchased the company. Sometime in the 90's I wanted a wood body and purchased a F60 ( round neck). That one was made in Nashville I believe and is really nice too. Both have a 10" cone. I have played a few Nationals and they sounds amazing, but have really beefy necks. I am far from good at open tunings, but I like open D and open G. To me the wood biscuit is bright enough and I'm not sure if the aluminum is have any warmth too it. If I ever modded either Dobo, I'd probably put in a National Hot plate w/ Lollar electric pup. The Lace Ultra slim is fine too.
Members Freeman Keller
I've run a Paul Norman carbon fiber biscuit in my Duolian since 2009. Lighter than maple, intonation is fine for the combination slide/fretted play. Paul has sold a variety of compensated saddles for at least that long. My tricone has a normal Tee bridge, my spider has a spider bridge.
Members Gibson29
They’ve got me curious to hear a before and after. Tone, intonation, the whole ball, otherwise it’s just gewgaws to separate me from my money. Well, to be fair, it ALL is after all is said and done
Members Cobrablues
They make wooden Revolution bases. All the ones I have installed, both wood and metal have been an awesome upgrade.
