Members dadofjohn
Good day to all. Please advise. I bought a Fender Pre-Wired SSS Pickguard to replace the HSS that came with my Contemporary Squire Strat. The connections of the new Pre-Wired SSS Pickguard are: 1. 2 (there and back) to/from the Input Jack 2. Ground to the Tremolo 3. Ground with ring connector for the Control Cavity. The connections as came with my HSS Squire Strat did not have a ground for the Control Cavity and sounds great without it. The control cavity may have shielding paint (if so a multi-meter would read 0 V or 0.001 V, right) Is it OK to forego the Control Cavity Ground and just Elec Tape it up? Apologies for the verbosity and thanks in advance.
Members badpenguin
So it had a wire with a ring tip, that was screwed into the wood. Should be fine without it, or if you feel you need it, simply add one from the ground from the trem.
