Members rdpar
Has anyone seen a color coded wiring diagram for a dual humbucker set up with a push pull tone/split coil pot and a volume push pull phase pot , that you can guide me to. thanks
Members mrbrown49
There isn't really a universal color code for pickup wires unfortunately. It depends somewhat on who made the pickup. Who made your pickups? Seymour duncan has a ton of good diagrams on their site, but the colors are only guaranteed to match their convention. https://www.seymourduncan.com/wiring-diagrams

Members badpenguin
ok, this should help with the color codes, and for the wiring diagram itself.... Without knowing how many pots you have, this will work, unless you want more. https://guitarelectronics.com/2-humbuckers-3-way-toggle-switch-2-volumes-1-tone-coil-tap-reverse-phase/
Members rdpar
wow that's cool thanks. still no luck finding a wiring diagram, either with one volume p/p hipass and one tone p/p split coil and one two way toggle phase, or just using the volume p/p for phase instead of hipass. Members Grant Harding
Hi there. How many knobs? 2 volume, 2 tone? What sort of switch? 3-way? Edit: you replied while I was typing. 😀
Phil O'Keefe
21 hours ago, rdpar said: I have dimarzio pickups. Here's the info from the Dimarzio website regarding their color codes... HOW DO I CONNECT A 4-CONDUCTOR PICKUP? For normal series-humbucking wiring, solder the black and white wires to each other and insulate that connection with tape. The red wire is the hot output and the green and bare wires go to ground, usually by soldering them to the back of a pot. If the pickup sounds "out-of-phase" when played with other pickups, use the green as hot and connect the red and bare to ground. 4 Conductor Wiring For further instructions, please see our Wiring Diagrams page. The red words are links with lots of useful information. With that, plus the various diagrams on the Seymour Duncan site, you can probably get it figured out, but if you have concerns or questions, don't hesitate to ask. Members badpenguin
So, 2 pots? (vol/tone)? https://guitarelectronics.com/2-humbuckers-3-way-toggle-switch-1-volume-1-tone-coil-tap-reverse-phase/ 3 pots? https://guitarelectronics.com/2-humbuckers-3-way-toggle-switch-1-volume-2-tones-coil-tap-reverse-phase/ 4 pots? https://guitarelectronics.com/2-humbuckers-3-way-toggle-switch-2-volumes-2-tones-coil-tap-reverse-phase/
Members ShaunKavanagh
Bridge Vol p/p coil tap, Neck Vol p/p coil tap, Bridge Tone p/p Phase, 1 normal Tone. so, 3 p/p PLUS 1 tone. I have 2015 Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro with 3 p/p and 1 non p/p.
