Members leadfootdriver
I bought a fixed Bridge guitar and it's the best sounding axe I ever had. It makes my Ibanez shredder sound like a cardboard box strung with rubber bands.. But it is cool to have a whammy every once in a while..
Moderators daddymack Posted November 24, 2019 Moderators Share Posted November 24, 2019 you can 'block' the tremolo...
Members mikesr1963
Why would you want to? Are they made from the same type of wood? Have the same type of neck? Check out the rig rundown video of ZZ Top. Regardless of what guitar he plays they have it digitally dialed in to sound like Les Paul, so his tech explains. There a lot of variables on what makes a guitar sound the way it does.

It did increase the resonance, but nothing like a fixed bridge.
Members badpenguin
So are you asking a question, or showing off your music? All you really can do is block the trem.
Members Grant Harding
I leave the back plate off mine and have two little strips of foam that I wedge between the springs to dampen them if I want more of a hardtail sound.
Members leadfootdriver
Seen that rig with a Marshall pre and a digital EQ. I'm sure it's not exactly like a LP straight into an amp, but close enough I guess. Same with Metallica using the modelers.. Ew.. Cheaper and easier I'm sure. Everyone decided to bail just because they changed the format. Kinda dumb, and it's never been the same. Lets bring it back!

Cool. I always rolled toilet paper joints and put them in the springs to stop the ring. Always worked pretty good.
