Members t_e_l_e
yes there is really much less fretting and picking noise so this is really a big plus e.g. for recording from a sound point of view i need to play a bit more, my first impression is, they sound different, but not sure if it is in a good way or not so time will tell if they are really worth the almost 3 times the price of the standard ones
Members garthman
I use a similar ground and polished set of nylon strings (La Bella 900) on one of my classical guitars. They really do greatly reduce string squeak
Members DeepEnd
I tried a set several years ago in an effort to eliminate G string binding. I figured the flatter strings would have less tendency to bind but it didn't work out. IIRC the sound was "Okay" but nothing I'd go out of my way for. Members Idunno
I used a set of similar strings but found the edges of the flattened strings sharp creating drag that I did not have with round wound strings. Not a real big deal until sliding and then they became cheese graters. They weren't D'Addarios. I think "Masterclass" was in the name. Talking some faded memory years ago. Members Mikeo
I have tried many brands of string, but keep coming back to D'Addario's EJ16 is what I have been playing on my acoustics.

I used primarily D'Addario's for years until I tried Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze. My last few sets have been those. I also noted that 80/20's were much less prone to G string binding than phosphor bronze. Never figured out why but I recommend them for anyone who has that issue.
