Line6 DL4 Swell advice for Auto Volume Echo

Are there DL4 users here that could give me some tips for using the Auto Volume Echo?

I really love the swelling effect but it gets glitches and jumpy on mine and I can’t figure out why.

 

For Example sometimes when I strum the swell is smooth, but then if I go to strum again I get these stoppy starty glitchy jumps in the sound like the delay length /tap or repeat amount is glitching/stop-starting the swell during mid-swell.
