Members ggm1960
Our recent vacation to Hawaii (Oʻahu and Hawai'i) was interesting, educational and a fun adventure. It was also exciting because it put me in my 49th state and with a plan to ride the Harley to Alaska in three years or less I'll get all 50! Phil O'Keefe
I don't know if excited is the right word, but this had me pretty intrigued today: It's about the relationship of consciousness to quantum field theory. There is a definite link: Some things in quantum physics only occur if observed. I considered it an hour very well spent. I'll definitely give this a watch this evening - thanks for the link! Members Ernest Buckley
A couple of things I'm excited about... 1) I finally made the leap to Logic Pro X today... after years of sitting on the fence between Digital Performer and Ableton Live... I`ll most likely continue to use DP so I can collaborate and use Live as well to create sounds but honestly, neither DAW felt natural and that's after 17 years with DP. 2) I did my first cue for a short film. What a blast! I have not felt this excited to make music since... I cannot remember. 3) My studio is finally fully operational since 2012... It took some time to decide on where I wanted to go because my interests have expanded so much. I was looking to consolidate but I also wanted to be able to service a band if need be so I recently upgraded my interface to the Apollo 8p. Its just nice to have everything plugged in where it needs to be so I can just work without interruption.
Members AlamoJoe
If movies like "Doctor Strange" had come out in the 60s in 3D IMAX, drugs would never have gotten traction Lol....While I understand what you're saying, consider this...If drugs (In particular LSD) had never gotten traction, would movie magic evolved at the pace that gave us Doc Strange? All the expansive thinking involved in movie making from then to now...A lot of it informed and even inspired by that era and the vast, earthshaking changes in music and culture...A great deal of it by people that had taken acid....At least the ones that didn't take so much of it.. Our generation...Your's and mine...Put the weird in a lot of stuff.....I only took acid 3 times...It changed the way I think... Another question...Why are the Marvel movies so much better than the DC Movies? I was into DC way before Marvel when I was a kid. DC, I suppose, was a lot more of what was perceived at the time as wholesome. An Alien with a good heart and superpowers. A rich kid with cool toys and a good heart. A good kid, transformed by an accident that could run like really fast. A stone fox from a society with nothing but women. Strong kick your butt women. Marvel was the address of the weird and dark. The real freaks. The realm of Gods and Sorcerers...Of Spiders and Lab created Giants, filled with rage. The Batman movies with Christian Bale in the title role were the best DC movies to that date. The next glimmer of hope was Man of Steel...Superman.....with issues...And DC went truly dark with the squeakiest clean character they ever created with Batman vs Superman...Superman with even more issues...and a really nasty side...... Wonder Woman was, I believe, a triumph. Gal Godot is an amazing, charismatic presence and actress and Chris pine did great work kind of standing back and letting her shine on through. The cinematic quality of the movie was stellar as well. With "Justice League" , while there were missteps, critics be damned, I loved it. The Hippie Aquaman was a cool and unexpected pleasure. Affleck was better as Batman, while not even getting close to Bale in execution. The nerdy Flash was also an unexpected pleasure and surprise. Still...Overall...The DC movies just don't seem to reach the heights of the Marvel ones. Thor/Ragnarok was so completely entertaining...Everything you want from a Superhero movie insofar as action, and comic relief throughout...A triumph. I'm just excited about film these days...........Period.
