Members TheOther
I've been trying to replicate the 'power' synth sound used in the C-D-Em chord progression in Livin' on a Prayer four bars after the guitar and drums come in. Any suggestions? It's around 30 seconds on the linked video.
Members dan88z
When we did this I layered a poly synth with a percussive synth. You could also layer a piano in to give it that attack.
Phil O'Keefe
My guess is that it's a Yamaha DX7... it vaguely sounds like some sort of a cross between the DX7 Piano 2 and Guitar 2 presets. I believe David Bryan also used a Yamaha CP80, a Memorymoog and a Prophet 2000 sampler at the time... maybe he was layering a bit of the Moog with the DX? Here's a YouTube video with him running down his rig in 1988... [video=youtube;GQ_Ko80GB30]
Members progfan
I get very close with a Nord Stage, layering piano with synth.
