Members Nabisco
It looks beautiful but, did you lacquer/varnish the fretboard? It looks awfully shiny.
Members Ratrodder50
I did yes it doesnt detract from the sound as one might think it would. Ive seen just 1 other example of this exact guitar and harmony demont doesnt list this paticular model closest one is the santa fe b model but headstock is incorrect
Members garthman
I don't' know what it's worth but varnishing the fretboard like that has likely knocked off quite a few $$$
Members Ratrodder50
Its funny i have several other guitars far better but i find myself picking this one up more often than the others maybe its the unique sound ?
Members Freeman Keller
The guitar is somewhat similar to the iconic Epiphone Olympic that Dave Rawlings plays and it certainly has a unique sound. Interestingly, that Epip wasn't considered much of a guitar until Rawlings started playing his, suddenly the price shot way up.
Members Freeman Keller
What Garthman said. Refinishing or modifying an old guitar almost always dramatically cuts the value of a vintage instrument, however this probably wasn't a super desirable model to start with so it doesn't matter. Value would depend a lot on structural condition - neck angle, frets, and any other issues. The fretboard finsh (and maybe that leather pick guard) might reduce the value to a collector. Members Ratrodder50
Ive searched a massive amount on tons of sites to find one to compare with antabellum shows 1 but no other nowhere.. according to harmony history in that era at best 300 or so archtops were constructed per year. With this model being among many others im sure over the long years many of them didnt survive sadly!! I can only pray this is 1 of 2 survivors wouldnt that be sweet!!
