Members burton4snow
I have a Squier vintage modified Mustang that I put Hot Rails in and have never really jelled with it. I want to get back to a single coil sound. It doesn't have to be a Mustang sound. I mostly play Blues and Blues Rock. I think I want something that has a little bit of jangle in it but can still handle overdrive. It would be nice if the neck was reverse wound for hum canceling in the middle. I have been looking at Lace golds, GFS lipsticks, and GFS Greybottom non staggers. I have around a $100 to spend. Any Other suggestions
Members Grant Harding
I recommend you save up another hundred and get a set of these. You'll never miss the money and you'll have fantastic pickups. https://www.fralinpickups.com/product/mustang/
Members Pine Apple Slim
I had some GFS lipsticks in a plywood Tele copy. Very twangy and raw in a good way like the originals. Added distortion would just be to taste. Decent old school Dano sound. Not sure that's what you want though.
Members Pine Apple Slim
Try Wilde Keystones if they are still making a Strat size.
