Members Voltan
A membranophone is any musical instrument which produces sound primarily by way of a vibrating stretched membrane. It is one of the four main divisions of instruments in the original Hornbostel-Sachs scheme of musical instrument classification. Most membranaphones are drums. chinese chau gongs, more correctly tam tams, but the folks that make them call them gongs... so... either way they are heavy, metal frames with a tensioned and stretched metal, vibrating membrane producing sound ... drums. and this is my current drum set. pics were taken by a friend at a ren faire/ scottish festival last weekend.
