His music was a constant source of fascination for me. He had always seemed an ancient ........His singing became something I wanted so badly to emulate, especially over the last twenty years when my own voice dropped in register. He had an abundance of world weary wise/cool.

 

The world is a lesser place without him in it....But I'm so very glad he left the same way Bowie did...He left us with a new album.

I've come to love his work mainly through covers by others, but my sympathies to those of you who are passionate fans- I can see how you would connect with such great poetry and personality.

 

Dunno if any of you know about this- the underground legend ice skater Gary Beacom choreographed one of his witty, eccentric, technically dazzling routines to "I'm Your Man". Amazing.
