Members Pater Familias
I bought a used SM57 from another forum. I asked the seller to unscrew the mic to take a picture of the wiring and the bottom at the XLR pins. Well I erroneously told him to unscrew the windscreen rather than the body, and needless to say he went a little farther than I intended and couldn't get it back together. I'm afraid I may have messed up what appears to be a little ground wire under the yellow tape, also. I'd hate to put $55 more into this to have Shure put it back together. Then I'd have $120 in a used mic. Can anyone help me here? I'd be tremendously grateful.
Members soul-x
Hate to be bearer of bad news, but the wire that's supposed to be under that yellow tape is beyond tiny -- and probably too delicate to solder by hand. You're probably S.O.L. on a user repair.
